Operation Respond has signed a license agreement with Union Tank Car to provide detailed information about railroad tank cars to emergency responders. The agreement allows Operation Respond to utilize information contained in the Union Tank Car Blue Book in the development of tools and technology for emergency responders.

"This is a great opportunity to provide responders with information they could need in an emergency. We are excited to see what solutions for emergency responders ORI develops with this Blue Book information," said Bill Hansen of Union Tank Car.

The UTLX Bluebook contains engineering data about Union Tank Cars' operating on the railroads. Union Tank Car is a major supplier of rail tank cars to the railroad industry. Their tank cars and company are identified by the synonymous "UTLX". They are located on the web at www.utlx.com.

The newly obtained Union Tank Car data will be used in the upcoming version of OREIS™, to be released early next year. This version will include improved tank car schematics for emergency responders, rendered using the UTLX Blue Book. ORI is currently in the process of reviewing the Blue Book with several emergency responder professionals to develop the best method to include this information in the software. Previous versions of OREIS™ include less detailed versions of tank car schematics.
