Union Tank Car Acquires Exsif

Exsif agrees to purchase the intermodal tank container leasing business of Transamerica Leasing, Inc.

EXSIF Worldwide, an affiliate of Union Tank Car Company, has agreed to purchase the intermodal tank container leasing business of Transamerica Leasing, Inc. The acquisition is scheduled to close in September.
The acquisition complements the 1999 purchase of ISO tank lessor EXSIF SAS, based in Versailles, France, and its U.S. affiliate, EXSIF (US), Inc., and strengthens Union Tank Car's presence in the intermodal marketplace.
Transamerica Leasing, based in Purchase, NY, owns and/or manages more than 19,000 ISO tanks and truck chassis that are leased to international chemical companies and specialized logistic firms involved in bulk liquid transportation. The fleet comprises a comprehensive range of unit types including IMO 1, 2 and 5 as well as various specialized tank designs.
Chicago-based Union Tank Car Company is a major designer, manufacturer and full-service lessor of specialized railcars. It is a member of The Marmon Group, an international association of more than 100 autonomous manufacturing and service companies with collective sales of more than $6.5 billion.
